Architecture Buildings

Krzywy Domek (The Crooked House), Poland
1. Designed by Szotyńscy Zaleski inspired by Jan Marcin Szancer fairy-tale illustration
2. Built in 2004
3. Sopot, Poland
4. Public building, is part of the shopping center with restaurants, cafes, shops and a radio station.
5. $30 million, completed in two years.
6. Ever sinced it was built, it became Poland's most photographed building
7. The reason why i Picked this building because of the way it looks and shape. The bending building creates a feel that the building was either squished or melted. The glass in the middle also contributed to the way it shape, it is very unique to see glass in the middle without thinking that it's going to break because the other buildings are bending. Also, this building makes a 2-3 D effects like it's kind of moving if you stare at it for a long time.

Burj Al Arab, Dubai, UAE
1. Designed by Tom Wright of WS Atkins PLC
2. Began in 1994 - finished in 1999
3. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
4. Public building, luxury hotel and fourth tallest hotel in the world
5. Information had not been announced but rooms prices range from $1000 - $27000
6.Dubai coastline is a great place for attraction to tourist therefore Burj Al Arab was develop as a legendary and symbolic hotel that attracted international attention.
7. Personally, I like this building because it shape is similar to a windsurf board that surfers use. Also this building is the top fourth tallest building and it's on a small little island. The design and this concept is simple yet it catches the attention of viewers like me and it's located by water, which creates the perfect vacation theme. I like how it's a hotel, very refreshing for tourists if they decided to visit Dubai.

National Centre for the Performing Arts, China
1. Designed by a French Architect Paul Andreu
2. Built in 2001
3. Beijing, People's Republic of China
4. Public building, an opera house known as The Bird's Egg
5. Original cost was 2.688 billion Renminbi, total cost was ¥ 3.2 billion CNY.
6. Consist of three area, Opera hall, Music hall, and Theater hall. Highest palace of performing arts in China
7. This building is huge looking from the pictures, and it seems to be surrounded by an artificial lake. The concept of the design is pretty cool because the lake reflects the other half of the building. Also half of it is cover with titanium and the other half is glass which makes it look like a half peel egg, the light also brings out the building more, it is an unusual yet unique building.

Habitat 67, Canada
1. Designed by Israeli-Canadian architect Moshe Safdie
2. Built in 1964-1967
3. Montreal, Canada

5. Cost $17 million Canadian
6. It was an experiment in apartment living. became the permanent symbol of Expo 67 after it close, it was Moshe's experiment to make a fundamentally better and cheaper housing for the masses.
7. This piece of architect is very unique, because of the cubic shapes, Also how it's shape being hold together, just looking at it is already unique because of each cube popping in and out. Also it look like a bunch of cube stacking on top of each other one by one. it creates this feeling like it's about to fall apart any moment.

Stone House, Guimarães, Portugal
1. Current owner is Vitor Rodrigues. Architecture unknown yet was inspired by the Flintstones family home
2. Built in 1974 as a family's rural retreat
3. Guimarães, Fafe Mountains, Portugal
4. Private building
5. Cost is unknown
6. Built as a family's rural retreat
7. This building is very unique because it's made out of stone, the concept is similar to caveman houses back then. It's very beautiful and it catches my attention because who wouldn't want to live in a stone house?
Also it looks like it's a good house for people who's retired because the background view is perfect since it's located up in the mountains area.
