Landscapes Shortlist

I choose this picture because it has a magical feel to it. Just by looking at the picture, it look like you're viewing a village from a tall building. Everything look so magical due to the lighting that it got capture.

Travel Shortlist

From the way this picture was taken, the photo look as if it was drawn like a cartoon. Unique colors and view of a famous Time Square.

Fashion Shortlist

The girl in the photo have a nice sense of clothes also, with the horse in the background, it seems like there is a story behind this picture. Something like a runaway maybe?

Family & Friendship Shortlist

The photographer of this picture capture the "friendship" moment of all the kids. You can tell that they're all trying hard to win the game. The bright color of the photo makes everything innocent just like the kids.

Portraits Shortlist

The water in the picture was taken beautifully, the motion of the water touches the person and the smile of the subject was capture right at the monent.

Documentary Shortlist

When looking at this picture, there can be many different meanning behind it. In my opinion, the photographer have taken a artistic picture. The ciggarette is viewable along with the smoke and the boy had his eyes closed to show that he's confident in taking the hit.

Gardens & Plants Shortlist

When I first saw this picture, I thought it was a drawing instead of a photo. The photographer capture the plant so well, I had a feeling that I was standing in the picture. It's very magical due to the bright color lighting.

Wildlife Shortlist

This photo is very interesting due to the angle that it was taken. The monkey seem like he's paying respect to the statue because he's looking up to it. It's like the statues is his God that he's praying to.

Creative License Shortlist

The man in the picture walking into the green light is very mystical. The building around it are very mysterious and dark due to the lighting. The photographer seem to taken an advantage of the lighting and gives it a magical yet mystery feel to the photo.

 Action & Movement Shortlist

The photographer of this picture was able to capture the struggling faces of the bulls and the movement of the water. This picture also have a perfect lighting where you can see in the corners that the light was shinning down.

2. I've looked at 3 photos from the book Beards by Matthew Rainwaters who photographs those beard. There is a man with his beard so long that he tie it like a rope and even named it. Another man beard was red and he was a beard champion four years running. Also, there was another man with a beard that makes him an Alaskan and a sailor

3. I'd learn that there is many different kind of beards in the world and the many shape it taken form. Each of the contestant that have the beards are really unique because of their colors and shape.

    A) The reason why i picked this photo because his beard makes him look like a real captain/sailor of a ship.

    B) I see Simplicy because there is nothing in the background that cause the picture to have mergers.

    A) The website portraits many different kind of beards and moustace in the world. There is three picture of each man with their different unique form of beards. There is a book call Beard where you can find more pictures of beards and moustace like these. 

     B) I've learned that there is many kind of moustace and beards in the world.

     C) This site is relate to photography because of the way the photos look, they each have rules of photography portrait and also, it was taken by a photographer. The event of this website is interesting and different from what a usual photographer would take.

Ethics in Fashion Photography

1.
Before picture: Face applied make to cover up acne, hair style, eye with darker make up, brighter lighting
Photoshop: Eyes was lowered and made bigger, neck and shoulder were squeeze to make it skinny, neck was raise taller, cheek added more blush and color.

2. No it is not ethical to change a person appearence in a photo like in this video. Maybe you want to get an ID or a photo of yourself, if a person photoshop your face to the point where that doesn't look like you no more, that's like changing your identity. Also the way they edit the model face deceives people of the real appearence and beauty.

3. Yes there is because of many reasons. The audience that's viewing the picture can miscontrued the model real beauty. In the real world, there is no "perfect" body or person. By viewing this, many girls planned to strive their faces and body to look like the photoshop pictures.

4. The lightings and everything before the photoshop was ok. But changing the model whole appeareance by making her body parts proportion to the way a perfect model look is not.
5. Photojournalism is a way of writting down news,collecting information and events for publication and broadcast, it creates images in order to tell a news story. Fashion photography is devoted particular to clothing, style, and other fashion item, mostly seen on advertisment or magazine. Both are a genre of photography.

6. The relationship between photography and reality is compare and contrast. When capturing reality, you're taking photos through a lense and stopping the moment. The photos compare to reality is different because of the distortion. When looking at photos, sometimes you can't tell if it's photoshop or not because some photographers takes the photos too well. The video for example, the model picture was photoshop and put it on a buildboard. If you look at it, people think that the model is perfect and well made but they don't know the truth that it was photoshop.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. In my opinion, this photo is most unethical. When people look at this, they can simply implied that the american soldier is in fact being unreasonable against the man holding a child. Also the man holding the child in his hand look helplessly while the soldier hold his guns and seem to be pointing straight at the man. This change the viewers whole perspectives on the picture.

B. This photo is the most unethical in my opinion. It doesn't change the perspectives of the subject, which is the pyramids. Also there is no misleading ideas behind this photos. The photographer photoshop the pyramids to be closer so he can capture the idea of Ancient Egyptian and history view.



Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. The main point of this story is that many photo editors takes photoshop too far. Some of their manipulated photos end up causing them their jobs along with negatives comments. Many photo editors use photoshop to manipulate photos consist of politic, media, and historical perspectives.

B. These types of photos are unethical because to photographers, they're not professional. If a photographer can't simply capture a picture without changing the moral of it, then why even bother to be in this professional. If the photoshop photos have gone too far, then in my opinion it's not acceptable at all to be considered a good photo.

National Geographic Warm-up

2. This is my favorite photo because it cupture the old man face movement. The photographer was good enough to make the smoke coming of his mouth stopped and show in the picture without blurring it. It is unique because the caption also have a meaningful aspect.

3. If I were to submit a photo in this contest, I would take a pictures of dancers especially breakdance. I would capture the moment of their unique moves that they uses during their practice. The reason why I choose this specific subject for this contest is that my interest is breakdancing.

Abandoned Amusement Parks

1.     In borth article, I would want to visit Shidaka’s Utopia, Beppu, Kyushu, Japan theme park and take some pictures there. There is something about this theme park that gives a mysterious creepy feeling. It makes me want to go see for myself what's so scary about about it. The House of Horrors also caught my attention, I want to capture pictures that show it creepy component. It would also be a fun adventure because it will give me this exciting adrenaline that there's something secretive about the theme park that's waitting for me to capture it on camera.

5.     I think that taking picture inside the pyramids would be fun and exciting. If it was possible to take pictures of the hieroglyphics marked in the building. It's a unique place to take photos because alot of photographers never thought of pyramids and how the egyptians build it. You can take pictures of the drawing that is carved on the wall inside the building or tombs of rulers. I find this interesting because the ancient egyptians were one of the few empire that started civilization.

6.     I would need to saved up for the flight ticket, food and hotel expenses and also permission to go into these pyramids. Also to take atleast a quality professional DSLR to capture perfect quality pictures. I would take into considerations of all rules because of each different subjects that I'm going to capture.
