Magazine Cover



Magazine Covers

I. Early Magazine Covers is kind of similar to a book cover. It consist of only a title and publication data. There's no way you can tell what's inside the magazine. Some early magazine cover are thought out, by putting some kind of small illustration that have to link to the magazine data. Cover were rare in early magazine, it indicates the content of the magazine.

II. The Poster Cover have only a picture, along with the title, publication date, and the publisher. Many of the arts on the cover are from several illustrators that are famous for not only for their work but also for what's inside. Many of the poster are big enough to be hang on wall as a poster. Some of the covers illustration have a meaning to it or that it's connected to the magazine information.

III. Cover line started the "ongoing dialogue" and it draws the viewer attention better than what a cover art could. Designer thought of using models as their cover art, along with their posture or face over the title and all the cover line of the whole magazine. There is two set of cover lines, primary and secondary. The primary have a list of many famous magazine illustrator and the secondary line appears at the bottom of the picture with different type and color.

IV. Many magazine cover consit of fashion models and celebrities which can be easily advertise for the audience to buy their magazine. Some of them do not have many cover lines, if so, it will be bold graphic with no more than a few lines of titles. Nowadays, cover lines is either covered by models or it's surrounding them.

Prompt Photos: Happy, Akins, Buildings

To be honest, the quality of this picture is kind of grainy but as a photographer, I did really well by capturing her smile which relates to the theme as "Happy". I photoshop the light of this picture so that the subject "Happy" face would be more bright in the picture.

This picture took me a few times, especially fitting all the letters into one photo. The sign was located very high close to the ceiling, I had to shoot from different viewpoint to see the outcome of the picture. I tilted the camera so the picture would be a little more unique also along with the viewpoint that I shoot this picture from below to the top.

This picture is very unique because when I took it, I wanted to make the audience goes into the picture. From the rules that I used, I make this picture into something where you can "walk" into the scene. The black and white makes the picture classic because buildings can be a sample of something "old".

Class Choice

I think that next year, I will take Newspaper. It interest me because as a member of the newspaper team, I want to learn how to take pictures that will express my own school. Also, I'm interested in learning more about Photoshop and how to use it. Plus I'm planning on getting my own camera when I have enough money so before that, I want to learn more about the DSLR and how it works. I believed that by continuing this class will help me learn how to take better picture with a DSLR because it is harder than it looks.

My Holidays

One thing that I will remember during my christmas holiday is the New Year party at my dad friend house. It was a fun New Year.

My resolution for new year is to get better grades and work out for track so I can compete better.

I'm looking to getting out of school for Summer, thinking of going to Vietnam to visit my family and Getting my license and car.

The reason why I choose them because I've listen to their music way way before they got famous. Also their music isn't much about money and other stuff that rap have nowadays. The team members have nice clothes and many people can relate to this song. They're a band new band that just started in the music entertainment.

Best Movie Of 2011 is Harry Potter and The Dealthly Hallows Part 2

I'm a big harry potter fan and I've been waitting for the last movie to come out in 2011. It was the best ending to the series in my opinion, they did not try to rush the series to and end. Many series movie that I've seen so far always have a crappy ending because they want to rush it. All harry potter fan was looking forward to this movie. My opinion, best movie and best series ever.

Best New Story Of 2011 was the Death of Osama Bin Laden

The United State finally assasinate the terorist of 9/11. Many citizens celebrated in joy for their lost family and friends that passed away on 9/11. It's the biggest new story because Bin Laden, the terorist leader is finally death. I picked it because it was the biggest new and achievement that the U.S did.

Most important Person of 2011

During 2011, our president Barack Obama did alot of things that a president didn't in a year. He manage to bring the troops back from Iraq and kill Bin Laden. Most people don't like him simply because he is a democratic, but he does many things for the U.S citizen to help them out. He contributes the most during the year of 2011 for the United States of America.

Best Sport Entertainment of 2011
The St. Louis Win against the TExas Rangers. Many of us was hoping for the Texas Rangers to win but the Cardinals surprise us in the World Series by winning. People will remember their win, I personally rooted for the Texas Rangers between these two teams.

Three Favorites

This picture is my most favorite because of the high quality background. Also from the picture scenery, viewers would think that it's a movie cover or from a game. The fire makes our subject, the man stands out more. The picture looks cool from the way the photographer took it.



The people in this picture looks like U.S members of the Airforce/Marines. They are celebrating their rights to love someone of the same marriage by marching in the parade. It is significant because it show that they finally have their freedom. It's my favorite because people are willing to change and stand up for what they believe in.

The photographer did really great to capture this photo. The swirl and houses in the back of this picture is very natural. Sometimes, it takes practice to capture nature natural disaster. From the viewpoint it was taken, I say that this picture deserve to be 2011 favorite.
